I’m excited to share that I have started a new position at the **Center for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics (QGG)** at **Aarhus University**. Looking forward to this new chapter and the exciting research, teaching, and collaborations ahead! ---
Our latest study looks at how P-element insertions affect fitness in fruit flies. Using experimental evolution and machine learning, we tracked how these transposable elements spread—and found that most new insertions are harmful and selected against. I gave a speed talk at the Arhus Festival of Research about my work on transposable element invasions in Drosophila. Couldn’t make it? A short article about my talk is available online .
New paper out in Theoretical Population Biology! We investigate spatial structure in disease models, revealing when spatial heterogeneity must be considered for accurate predictions and how it impacts key epidemiological outcomes—bridging theory and simulations for more realistic epidemic modeling.
